Welcome!

WELCOME!

Dear Parents,

WELCOME to my blog! :) I am very excited to be your child's Pre-K teacher. My goal is to learn about your child and their interests so that I can be successful in teaching him/her. I promise to do my best to teach your child according to his/her unique learning style, interests, and experiences.

This blog will be a place that I will share some of our wonderful learning experiences within the classroom, as well as a place to post classroom updates, upcoming events, and/or school news. Feel Free to explore my blog by clicking on the tabs above.  You will find more information about me and my classroom.

It is my job to provide your child with a wonderful school experience and make them excited about learning. I also would like to provide you with information that will help you ensure that your child is successful in school. I have listed a few helpful things below that you can do with your child at home.

Things you can do at home to help your child at school:

  1. Read to your child and allow your child to "read" to you each day.
  2. Find opportunities to count, discuss the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, etc; (Ex. "What color is that tree?", "How many m&m's do you have?", "What letters are in your name?", "What numbers are on the street sign?", "What shape is the clock?", etc;)
  3. Give your child many opportunities to handle pencils, crayons, scissors, paper, etc;
  4. Keep track of what your child is doing in school. Check the boomerang folder every day.
  5. Make sure your child gets enough sleep and eats a healthy breakfast.

    Please be sure to visit each week :) We are all ready to play, learn, and grow together! Don't forget to leave comments when you visit! :) I love reading your comments/feedback!
